Glacier Trek in Italy, Adamello Brenta Nature Park

Guided Glacier Trek in the high mountains of Adamello Brenta Nature Park in Italy. This trek is organized in the second and third week of July 2018 from Monday to Friday by the Alpine guides of Val di Sole. For 5 days you will be in the magical landscape of the adamello presanella glaciers.  Every day you will cross glaciers, visit high peaks rising above 3000 m and you will cross the alpine via ferrata route  “Sentiero dei Fiori“. You will sleep in mountain huts,situated between 2.300-2500 m.

Glacier Trekking running along the First World War front line

Not only the landscape of this glacier trek but also the history of this particular area is very interesting. During the first world war it was a scene of heavy warfare. During the first day of the trekking you will be confronted with remains of the first world war. You will cross the spectacular “Sentiero dei Fiori” a via ferrata route following the First World War front line. Later during your trek you will come across other impressive war monuments such as the Cannon149, a canon that was dragged up into the Adamello Presanella mountains during the First World War and has remained there ever since…

A trekking across glaciers for trained people

This is a very beautiful trekking in a wild landscape for trained people. Every day you will have the opportunity to climb a high peak that rises above 3000m. Although technically speaking it is not a very difficult trekking it is physically though. The oxygen levels above 2.500m decreases quickly and  you will have to carry your mountain gear: harness, crampons, helmet and lifeline with musketons. You will have to be in a good shape !

Program Glacier Trek

Day 1: Departure from Tonale pass (1870 m), telecabine to the Paradiso pass (2585 m) via ferrata Sentiero dei Fiori, mountain peak Corno di Lago scuro ( 3166 m) descent to Refuge Mandrone (2449 m) for the overnight stay.
Day 2: Mountain hut Mandrone, glacier del Mandrone, Cresta Croce Peak (3313 m), descent to Refuge Lobbia Alta (3020) for overnight stay.
Day 3: Mountain hut Lobbia Alta,  Cannone pass, War monument Cannone149G (3300 m), descent to refuge Mandrone (2449) across glacier Mandrone for overnight stay.
Day 4: Mountain hut Mandrone, Migotti trail, Cercen pass (3022 m), descent to Refuge Denza (2298 m).
Day 5: Mountain hut Denza, Pozzi Alti pass, Monument / Fort Pozzi Alti (2604 m), Passo Tonale (1870 m)

This tour is organized in the second and third week of July 2018 from Monday to Friday. This trekking will not be organized in the week before and after the Italian holiday ‘ferragosto’ (16th of August).
